🐾 Our Story

DeTicktor began with a golden retriever named Simba and a problem that many pet owners know all too well- ticks.

One of our founders, Sahana, noticed how frequently Simba would come back from walks with unwanted hitchhikers. Despite regular checks, ticks often went unnoticed until they became a bigger concern.

This everyday frustration sparked a question:

“What if there was an easier, faster, and more reliable way to detect ticks before they became a problem?”

From that question, the DeTicktor was born- a smart, user-friendly tool designed to give pet owners peace of mind. What started as a weekend idea at the Cornell Animal Health Hackathon quickly grew into a full-fledged project powered by a passionate team of engineers, designers, and animal lovers!
